Each week, EtM dedicates Sunday to sharing a list of stories and links to items we haven’t talked about! Here’s what’s news at Disney for the week of January 12-18, 2015
Park News:
- Probably the biggest news this week came from a variety of online sources, including the Orlando Business Journal, about Disney filing paperwork for the expansion of Epcot’s Norway Pavilion, which includes a new Frozen meet and greet and a renovated women’s restroom.
- The 2015 Epcot Flower and Garden Festival has a new concert series, Garden Rocks, which features acts across almost five decades! Disney Parks Blog announced the full line up for the new series, which takes the place of the former Flower Power concert series which featured acts from the 60s and 70s.
- Foodies start making your fall reservations! Disney announced the dates for the 2015 Epcot Food & Wine Festival!
- Magic Kingdom’s Carousel of Progress and Space Mountain celebrated their 40 year anniversary last week!
- Rikki Niblett from TouringPlans.com shared details about the Disney’s Hollywood Studios preview of the new live-action Cinderella movie which opens March 13.
- Last week, my news column on MousePlanet shared how the Walt Disney World Resort no longer has ticket redemption arcade games thanks to Florida state legislation. This, unfortunately, includes the closure of the Tomorrowland Arcade at the Magic Kingdom.
- Photos of the new interactive queue for Peter Pan’s Adventure in the Magic Kingdom can be seen courtesy of the Disney Parks Blog.
- The Disney Food Blog gave an update at some of the changes coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios’ food and drink options, including the soon-to-open Starbucks!
